Blog post 4

Today in CGI I fixed up my story.  I talked to Emma's mother and she told me that she taught kindergarten kids and second graders.  She said that the most trouble that the kids had were idioms (second graders) and vocabulary words for the kindergartners.  I will be doing the vocabulary words for kindergartners, and the vocab will be related to things you use at school like palota or lapiz.  I think this will help the kids learn some of the vocab needed to have a fun day at school.

third 20 time day

Today I continued to work on my alphabet list.  I did the rest of the alphabet that I didn't finish last class period.  The list still contains an animal, country, food and thing.  Since I am done with the list of things, I will make sentences for each of the things I have listed.  These sentences will be in both English and Spanish, the English version bigger than the other.  I am hoping to have the English sentences done by the end of the next 20 time day.

20 time project day 2

Today in CGI when working on my project, i began to write down the letters and some words I will use on that page.  For example, for the letter A I chose the words alligator, Argentina, apple and airplane.  Each page will include an animal, a country, a food, and a thing.  I got up to the letter F in this list.  I am planning to finish this list before, or during the next 20 time project day.  Along with having just words on each page, I will make a simple sentence with them in English, have the pronunciation of the word, and the sentence in Spanish underneath.

20 time project 1

For my 20 time project I have decided to make a children's book for ESL students in America.  This book will help students who might not know English very well, learn more.  In the book there will be colorful pictures and phrases that relate to the picture.  These phrases will contain Basic English, and underneath it will be the Spanish translation of the sentence.  The sentence will be easy enough to understand, so the children won't get frustrated and not want to learn what the book has to offer.
